Turkey!

My lovely editor emailed me yesterday to tell me DECEPTION will be published in Turkey.

When I put Deception into a Turkish translator this is what came up: kandırma, aldatma, dalavere, hile, aldanma; ayartma; kanma; utanç

They probably won't title it any of those things. Though, at the moment, my personal favorite is Dalavere, which sounds sort of dashing.

Ooh, I like all of those title words, except maybe utanc (and how did you make that little squigly under the c?)

Congrats on your book deal to Turkey. That is more than awesome. I can't wait to read it. *entering contest now* :-)

I copied and pasted the silly c. I love those squiggly cs.

Thanks for your kind thoughts!

"Hile" sounds wrong for so many reasons, the topmost being that it sounds like someone is coughing something up. Yuck.

Haha--love the blog look, Lee!

OK, so I'm halfway through DECEPTION and LOVING it. Can't believe this is your first YA, Lee. You've got the voice nailed. There are too few truly funny narrators in YA and Emma is freaking hilarious.

Also, I've decided that we're drinking wine (or Diet Coke with Twizzler straws, I'm totally flexible) together if we ever happen to be at the same conference or something. I think we'd get along famously. And yes, the fact that I'm making this assumption based purely on your writing is somewhat stalkerish, but I'm completely ok with that.

P.S.
Congrats on Turkey!
